If the spending last week at the NYC Opera was an indication of how the economy is doing, then I'd say it's doing well. Last weekend was "Where The Wild Things Are" which meant that the theater was full of kids. And you know what kids do? They go straight to the gift shop and say, "daddy/mommy/grandma, I want....." and their parents made sure they had it. I was working like a beaver! Wow, so much money being spent! It was a bit stressful, but good for the opera. Hopefully they made plenty of money on Saturday.
